Charged for 2 Loans and the entire year and I was only there like for Five months Philadelphia

I enrolled in Harrison Career institute in 2003 they processed a grant along with a loan. I only went there for five months and had to drop out because I became really ill with cancer. Years after that I went online and got my credit report and to my surprise I had a subsidized loan and un-subsidized loan for over 3,000 each one. I was very surprised and upset. I knew I owed some money to the school but I never thought they were going to process 2 loans like if I had finish and graduated. I got a very upsetting call yesterday from a collection agency collecting the money and I tried to work something out with them but now it turns out that I owe more than the 6,000 because they are charging me the collection fees. I now owe 8,600 dollars... I am about to drop dead I am sooooo desperate and I don't know what to do. The collection agency threatened me with keeping my belongings like my car and all. Also with taking 15% off my paycheck and also with keeping my income tax. I do want to get this matter straighten out but with the real amount for the time that I went to school not with the entire amount that the school end up stealing from the Department of Education...

I am soooo deppressed I wanted to go to school again but now I won't do it I am so scared.
