Jesse Martinez Refused to pay me my earned wages

Jesse Martinez hired me in March to work for what he said was his company Debt Educators of America. I worked at Debt Educators of America from mid March to mid April as a debt educator and an office manager. Jesse had me fill out a 1099 (independent contractor) form instead of a w-2 which I should have filled out since I was a salaried employee. He let me go because I took all of my personal items home. He is being investigated by the Employee Security Commission. Debt Educators still owes me for over two and a half weeks of work. Pay day was the day after I left the company. For a week he kept telling me that my check was in the mail. When I finally confronted him in person, he gave excuses why he would not pay me. It is the middle of July and I have still not been paid any of the money that he owes me. Kind of ironic that someone who supposedly counsels people on how to get out of a debt can't or won't pay his own bills.
