University Of Phoenix Online
Lied To Me

Education & Science

Greetings,

I am a graduate of the University of Phoenix Online and completed their Bachelors of Science in Information Technology program successfully with a 3.9 grade point average. Its been 9 months now since I finished the program back in July and unfortunately, I am unable to find a job with a suitable employer. It's not that the economy is bad either because everyday, there are tons of IT jobs here in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I want to file a lawsuit against their recruiters for bringing me into this worthless program in the first place. Their enrollment counselors made me lie on my resume so that I could officially be matriculated into the BSIT program and declared a registered undergraduate BSIT major. The enrollment counselor also stated that I would be able to find a job once I graduated and have received my bachelors degree. I can't even get hired as a helpdesk technician and that's the lowest entry level job in the IT field.

I have at least 10 to 15 employment rejection letters in every job position in the IT field and I recently got rejected from an IT internship position which is very sad.

This college is definitely for-profit, some of the teachers refused to help me on my individual assignments and I ended up borrowing books on the subject matter from the Hawaii Public State Library just to gain an understanding. I learned more from reading the books I borrowed than from the books UoP provides as well as not receiving any help at all from the teachers. What is the point of paying $1500.00 for 1 class if the teacher isn't willing to help? Why pay $9000.00 if 6 teachers aren't willing to help?

What do the academic counselors say?"Don't worry about the teachers, you're almost close to finishing your program, you'll graduate and get a good IT job!"

Well I have something I want to say to all those counselors and advisors that represent the University of Phoenix:

"It has been 9 months since graduation and I could've made anywhere between $27000 to $80000 dollars as a database administrator, computer programmer, web programmer, software developer, network administrator, or a systems administrator, etc., etc., etc."

The University of Phoenix organization puts together an educational model; enroll any "suitable" student, hire teachers that don't care about their students, and keep students in their degree programs that produce worthless degrees and worthless job skills by constantly reminding the students that they'll be able to find work in their fields upon successful completion of their degree programs.

I want to sue them for everything; my 2 long years I put in and also my post-graduation job interviews that I had to sit through only to discover that I wasn't qualified enough!

Come one, come all, you good lawyers of the world, and lets put a stop to the University of Phoenix Online that produces graduates with worthless degrees and worthless job skills.

Sincerely,

A Very Disgruntled 2008 University of Phoenix Online Bahelor's of Science in Information Technology 3.9 GPA Graduate
