Camco Capital Acquisitions & Management Company ripoff deceptive ripoff practices

Camco has been trying to get in touch with me for several months. The man who calls leaves a message on my answering service acting like i know him, but because of an email i got warning me not to return calls from an 876 number I never called it back. The email I got said if you called this number you would be charged $2400 per minute. This info was purported to be from AT& T. The number is in Jamaca.

Well they finally got me at home tonight at 9:01 pm (I thought they could not call that late) They told me that I owed $2400 for a Wachovia Visa from 1988. They asked if I was going to pay this debt and I said no. Then he told me if I did not pay the account they would take me to court. Then they said (and they listed all of my current account) that they would call my current creditors and tell them that I would not pay this account and ruin my credit.

They told me that I was doing very well now and I should be able to pay this and they were willing to drop it to $500 if I would pay by credit card now. I told them I would have to talk to a lawyer before I would pay anything and he said that an attorney would cost me more than what I owed so why not just pay the bill, I said the attorney was a friend and would not charge me for advise. If I owed the money I would pay it, but I was not sure that what they were doing was even legal.

He got his boss on the phone at that time whom he said had been listening and he susgested I make a post dated check for $400. I again told him no. I asked him where he was calling from and he said Jamaca. But that their main office was in Rockford. He gave me what he said was a toll free number but I will not be calling it.
