Unauthorized credit card charge

A charge for $99.95 appeared on my American Express bill for membership in MWI*Connections. I never authorized or approved such a charge, and I don't know where this company got my AMEX account number.
AMEX customer support removed the charge at my request with no hassles at all. I did not contact the company, because I don't want to have any contact with what is obviously a predatory business.
