Consumer fraud ripoff no call back or refund

I came across an offer for a free tape called 101 hot tax tips while surfing the net. I filled in the information required, and received the tape in the mail.

Shortly after I got a call from the national defense network. They explained what the company was asked about my tax situation and finances. After speaking with them for quite awhile I told them I was not interested in a membership, but admitted I might be in the future.

About a year later I got a call from them. They asked about my taxes and finances again, and told me that I was grossly overpaying my taxes. They said I could save $3,000 to $4,000. I told them I didn't think so because that amount was more then the total taxes I had paid on my last return. They said that they would guarantee that I could save at least $3,000, and that I didn't have worry because I would have 30 days to cancel and still receive a full refund. I signed up for a membership, and the set up a day and time for me to talk with a tax expert.

I had my tax records out and made sure I was available at the appointed time, but they never called. I received the materials they promised. I never opened the box but concluded that the materials were just a few audio tapes, not being impressed I send back the materials by registered mail. Less then a week later I received a identical package. I called them and asked them what was going on, and they told me that I hadn't followed the proper cancellation procedure. They then told me that I need to send or fax them a signed letter stating that I wished to cancel. I followed the instructions and faxed them within the hour, and returned the second package.

Several weeks went by and my credit card still had not been credited the $1400 membership fee.
I called them again and they told me that they were still waiting for my cancellation notice, and recommend that I fax them again, which I did immediately.

Several more weeks went by and I still hadn't received a refund on my credit card. This time when I called them they said that the time for cancellation had expired.
