Shortly after my son took his SAT's I was contacted by this company and was told that when my son took the SAT's he checked a box basically requesting this CD based system to improve his scores.

I was told that I could use the system FREE for a full 30 days and if we didn't like it or need it we could send it back for a full refund.
The box did not arrive for some time and when it did I was not at home due to a death in the family.

When I did finally receive the box (12/16) I opened it took out the paper work, called and explained that I hadn't been at home to receive the box and would like to return it - unused.

I was told "no problem" given a return authorization number and told to send the box back and it would be refunded. I returned the box at my expense (with delivery confirmation! They received it 12/19) and waited.

When I received no credit on my card statement I called (12/31) and was asked if I had a tracking number. I said I did but not in my immediate reach. She said I had to have a tracking number to see where the package was. I got it and called back. I was told (after sitting on hold forever) that the package was in quality control and it would be a few days before the credit was issued.

At that time I asked about getting the 49.95 refunded for the web service that I never accessed. She "checked on it" and said their system showed it had only been "invoiced" not charged. She then told me to fax her a copy of my credit card statement! I blacked out everything but that charge and my name and faxed it.

I still didn't see a credit so I called back again (1/09/09) and this time was told that I wasn't getting the 49.95 back because it was my duty to call and cancel it. I reminded her that I had not been available to receive the box and had spoken to her about it previously. She became very rude and sassy and said it was my problem.

I asked her why she needed me to fax the statement then. She snapped back that she had to prove it was an actual charge. I asked what difference it made if they weren't going to refund it and she said she hadn't known any better because 12/31 had been her first day and she didn't know what was going on!!! SHE WAS THE SAME PERSON I'VE BEEN TALKING TO SINCE DAY ONE!!!

She then went on to tell me that my box was still in quality control because the computer system was down and it would be awhile before they know if I will be refunded. I reminded her that I had been clear about the circumstances when I called to return the box and she ACTUALLY LAUGHED!!!

I think the Attorney General and Better Business Bureau are going to hear from me also. This is unbelievable!!
