School, Liberal School Lies to Parents

The Berkeley Carroll School runs a fabulous child care center. My family signed our little boy up for the three year program in 2007 even though we could barely afford the high tuition. They just announced a month into school that they were closing the center!!!

When I apply to a school program, is that a question I need to ask. I know it is a three year program but will you still be open next year?

The School has tried to put many spins on why it closing. They say the hospital they rent the space from is kicking them out. A press release from the hospital says that it is not true and that they would get an extension on the lease if they asked for it. Why does this school lie?

The School says that this is a very recent decision. A member of the board of trustees told us otherwise, that this decison was made long before we toured the school. Again lies and decit.

A meeting with parents proved that the school had no resonable explaination to not keeping the school open for two more years to a least let the little child finish the program with their teachers and friends.in fact the headmaster told parents the school was operating in the black. Read that last sentence again. Are these people stupid, mean or hiding something. The board president BARBARA GROSSMAN is just a horrible mean person who has no business affecting the lives of children.

In October the school laid off 20 teachers most of whom are minorities by dragging them to the basement of the school while their kids drank their milk boxes. The teachers, some of whom spent their careers at the school were offered no severance. The school charges $29,000 a year tuition and the headmaster makes almost $300,000. The lord only knows how much BARBARA GROSSMAN puts in her pockets. This school is just mean.

This school has a great reputation, but there is a new Headmaster and new members of the board. They are shameful people. They enjoy not for profit status but will not do anything when the community asks. They make their students volunteer but act like jerks themelves.

They were not asked to do anything immpossible. They were asked to do the possible, and laughed in the faces of parents and toddlers.
