Charged for MORE hours than contracted fo

Aug07, My ex-husband & I contracted 238 hrs of tutoring 4 my son, 16, as recommended by The Huntington Learn Cntr. Cost $10,000 which included a prepaid discount. We took a loan, my father cosigned, 4 full amt. We set a sched. 4 my son, which would have him complete 238 hrs by spring08. The Cntr said they kept track of hrs on their computer for holiday, & makeup purposes. I was in contact with the Cntr & had meetings with director on my sons progress. A new director was hired & never asked 4 meeting, but at my last meeting I was told I'd b called 4 1 last meeting when my son was close to his 238 hrs.in Apr my son came home with a spring sched of the Cntrs hrs. I wrote on the sched "Please send this back 2 me with # of makeups needed, " I also called & left a msg. I received sched back with secretarys writing, saying "NO MAKEUPS as of 4/30 bal. Due $1204. Pls call for meeting". I was CONFUSED since I pd in full, IN ADVANCE. I called thinking its a billing error. I got in touch with Mike B., new director. He said my son was NOW up to 261 hrs so I owed $1240. I said I was NEVER called for a last meeting, NEVER told my son was near his 238 hrs, & worse yet NEVER told my son had PASSED his 238 hrs. I couldve been told by phone or in person, & my son couldve been told! I said since they let me bring him in once he passed his 238 hrs, w/o telling me, I was NOT responsible 4 this unsolicated hours, it was THEIR ERROR, & I wasnt going 2 pay 4 it! Mike said, "well considering your situation (my sons grandfather was dying in the hospital), I could get the fee lowered". HE WAS BARGAINING? I felt betrayed. They used fraudulent & unethical business practices 2 get more money then what was contracted! Since they tried 2 bargain with me, I thought that would b the end of it. A mnth later I get handwritten letter asking for $1505! If I didnt pay they were going to go to Corp & Collections. Ive got more letters since! 3 people have copies of the contract. Even though the loan will be paid off in full this month due to moneys from the death of my sons grandfather, I am still being harrased! I would appreciate any help. Disputed Amount: $1,505.00 Desired Outcome: I would like The Huntington Learning Center to admit to their billing & scheduling errors and withdraw the charge to me of $1505.00 for the additional 23 uncontracted tutoring hours.
