The College Network
Worthless nursing program - unusable in many states

Education & Science

I signed up for their LPN-RN program a few years ago, and have since seen more and more states' boards of nursing refusing to allow grads with a degree from their nursing school (Excelsior College) practice. Now my own state's board of nursing are ceasing to accept this degree, so it's worthless to me to continue. I have effectively thrown away thousands of dollars.

I have read that they allow just about anyone with any kind of healthcare affiliation to enter the ASN degree course, including MA's and EMT's, which is probably one of the main reason why all the boards of nursing are refusing to accept their graduates as nurses. That sounds like pure greed on the part of the College Network, because more people signing up makes more money for them, even if the people signing up are nowhere near qualified to begin an ASN degree.

I also read on a nursing forum that they have been told by various boards of nursing that their program needs to provide clinicals to be acceptable, and they have not done so. It seems they don't care if their degrees end up being worthless for the customer, as long as they've got their money out of the people they sign up. I think they should give refunds to those who have signed up for nursing programs who live in states that will not license anyone graduating from those programs.
