I was ripped off by them for $4,998.00

I got a letter with a check for $4,998.00 showing I need to make purchases at differant locations. I called the bank the check was drawn on and they said it was a valid check. Who puts the phone number on a check? The man I talked to with the company was short with me as if he was in a hurry to get off the phone.

I was told to deposit the check into my bank account and wait for it to clear and then call 905-399-5238 Ext. 102 back as soon as it cleared. They would then tell me what to do. I googled the bank and callled them and they said it was a scam.
