I received a letter from The National Lottery with a check from Nova Tube Indiana II for $3750 payable to me to cover the cost of the non-resident fee for the UK. I quickly checked the web search and found Nova Tube Indiana to be a valid company. I called the listed claim agent from the letter (James Warden) who verified that my name had been drawn to win US $145,000 as stated in the letter. He instructed me to deposit the check then call him for further instructions.

Still suspicious I asked my bank teller how I could find out if the check was valid. She said to deposit it and if it cleared later that day it was valid. The check cleared but a friend later told me she thought it was a scam. I immediately notified my bank and we are waiting to see if there are any damages to my account or anything I can do about it.
