Unauthorized use of my debit card internet

Education & Science

On 3/11/08 I found out this company automatically deducted $31.98 from my debit card (checking acct) without me authorizing it. I found out on 3/15/08 when I went to check my balance, which has caused insufficient funds. However, I contacted my bank immediately, they are filing a dispute and gave me a case# and I will have to sign some forms. The bank did give me a toll free ph# for company as 1-866-886-1277, I called it and they said they were some company called "Identity Theft Support" and told me to hold and someone would be on the phone shortly, while music was playing. I waited awhile and no one ever came to the phone, now I know why.

Anyways, my father said when something happened to him like this one time, he just went ahead and cancelled his card and had a new one issued to him. It's ashame that we would have to go through something like this, but if that's what it takes, I cannot afford this to keep happening to me, I'm sure alot of you out there feel the same way.
