I called Vonage on March 10 and inquired about their services. I was paying $210.00 a month with Bellsouht for three (3) voice lines and one (1) fax line.

Vonage quoted me $25.00 per month per voice line with unlimited local and long distance. They offered me $9.95 for the fax line. They were going to save me $125.00 per month. I them asked if they could port over my two 800 vanity numbers. They said no. So I decided to switch my home phone and the fax line and still save money.

The following day I got an email from Vonage claiming that Bellsouth said I have DSL on the home line (I don't I have Comcast cable) and They cannot install the service. I called and explained that I have Comcast cable and not DSL. I was told that I still couldn't get the service because to install the "D Mark" outside my home on my two lines was switching would cause the other two lines with Bellsouth to be rendered inactive. I can't have my two business lines deactivated to save money on my home phone.

I asked them to cancel the account.in the meantime they charged my debit card two times that day. One for $41.00 and the other time for $5.00. I called back and told them to issue a refund. I was told that the equipment had already shipped and I would have to ship it back at my expense for a refund. I had two customer service reps on the phone. One said the equipment was shipped the other said it was not. I checked my email a few hours later and I received a tracking number.

I checked the tracking number with UOS and it was not in route. UPS told me to contact Vonage and cancel the shipment. They would not. I said I will refuse shipment and I want to cancel my account. They said it would cost $42.00 and they will charge my debit card. I absolutely refused to authorize the charge. They said we will do it anyway and they did. They said I would be refunded when they got their equipment back.

So far this has cost me $87.00 and I have recieved nothing. The cancelation charge is a disconnect fee and I agreed to it in my contract. I was never connected. DO NOT do buiness with Vonage. They are unscrupulous. Their 30 day money back guaranty guaranty's them at least $40.00 no matter what you do. Why is this happening? Who can represent all of the people on this board who share the same nightmare? Where is the FCC?
