Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando / Ft. Lauderdale Vacations Ramada Plaza Resort Refund - Scammed

I got my mother a total refund from the Ramada Plaza Resorts in Ft. Lauderdale by doing the following - hopefully I will help others:

1) Phoned the resort customer service number as indicated in her booklet within a day of receiving information. She was never told on the phone about having to view a "timeshare" (keyword). Asked to speak with supervisor in charge, explained situation. Received half of the refund after a lot of complaining. Be as stubborn as them, they can be very ignorant.

2) Sent a written lettered via certified or registered (Canada) mail indicating she wanted a full refund (this was done before the 10th business day of receiving the information as indicated on the last page of the travel package booklet).

3) Did lots of research on the net and found the Attorney General of Florida's infomation as attached:

This link is on the above report from the attorney general's office, see Page 4, paragraph "g" it indicates: Plaza Resorts will honor all written refund requests received by Plaza Resorts pursuant to the law of the state in which the consumer making the request resides. The timeliness of the requests will be measured from the date of receipt of written fulfillment materials by the purchaser to the date of mailing of such request. Plaza Resorts agrees to honor all written requests timely made and to refund in full all payments made as of the date of the request. (See attached signed document).

4) Filed a complaint the the Wyndham Group who are the shareholders of the Ramada Plaza Resorts via the following:

5) Once the registered letter was signed for via my tracking number, we phoned Ramada Customer Service again and asked for the supervisor in charge. We tried to be nice about everything and explained that she was never told about the "timeshare" (keyword). Mom indicated she thought when they said view a vacation property they meant a tour of their grounds and not to be pressured into a "timeshare" deal. They said her registered letter was not in the computer yet so she told them the date and time it was signed for. Finally the supervisor said they would give her back all of her money except $87.00 which was for dispursement fees. Now what did they dispurse as no travel dates were ever made? Finally we had to pull out the big guns and read paragraph "g" from signed article from the Attorney General's office. We were immediately put on hold for quite a long time. When the supervisor came back on the line we were told that my mom would be receiving a full refund and given a confirmation number.

6) Approximately 4 days after I filed a complaint on the feedback section of the Wyndham Group's website, I was contacted by them asking for all the information because they were going to get me the refund.

Warning: I checked into sites that say they can get you a refund and some of these sites are scams - so try the above route first.
