Education & Science

I attended a Enlightened Wealth Institute seminar on Aug. 17,18 & 19th of 2007 at the Hyatt San Francisco Airport Hotel hosted by Jeff Schnitter. I did not sign up for their program at the seminar but the following week I received a call from a representative of Enlightened Wealth Institute asking questions about my interest in their program. I agreed to talk to a sales representative from EWI and on August 27th I received a call from Judd trying to sell my wife and I their program. He was a nice Christian man.

We agreed to pay for the program and receive the program literature for review with the understanding we could get a full refund. My wife stated her concern about studying and learning the techniques of investing in real estate over the phone. She stated we needed step by step instructions on the process of investing in real estate from beginning to end. Judd assured us that we would be satisfied with their program structure, materials and coaching.

We received the materials on August 30th. The next 3 days we reviewed the literature, DVDs, and reviewed several of the pre-recorded online courses. My wife and I realized that the materials were out dated, promotional, and motivational and not step by step instructions on how to buy and sell real estate in today's market.

On September 3rd I called Enlightened Wealth Institute and stated that we were not happy with what we had received and wanted to return the materials for a full refund. We were told no one was available to talk to us and that I should leave a message with Nate in resolutions. I expressed my concerns telling the receptionist on the phone that this was the 3rd day after receiving the learning literature, knowing that time was of essence. The receptionist told me that our call had been noted and that we were within our rights for a full refund. Later that week we finally received a call from Nate from resolutions who agreed with us about the materials and offered us a refund for the training materials. At that point we wanted out of the program with a full refund. Nate from resolutions wanted us to talk to Rex who is in charge of the coaching staff. We agreed as long as we would have the option for a full refund. Rex called us the week of Sept. 10th to discuss our concerns and persuaded us to continue on until we had the opportunity to work with a coach. We agreed as long as we could receive a full refund if we were still dissatisfied. On September 17th our assigned coach, Adam, called for our 1st coaching session. After our fist session we still had our doubts. I tried several times the week of September 17th to reach Nate in resolutions and left him several messages telling him the program was not working for us. My calls were never returned.

On September 25th I called and talked to Rex who is in charge of the coaches and told him we haven't been able to reach Nate in resolutions and told him we were not happy with the program. He reached Nate in resolutions and had him call us. After talking to Nate we agreed to one more coaching session which we had on September 27th with Adam. My wife and I both came away from these sessions knowing that this program was not educating us on the techniques of real estate investing as promised.

I talked to Nate in resolutions the following week and told him we were not happy and wanted a full refund. He said he would have to get back to me. He called me the next day and said he could not give me a refund but would give us a refund for the materials only.

In summary, we never received what we were told we were purchasing, which were step by step instructions on how to buy and sell real estate and a teacher (the coach) to instruct and direct. What we got was out dated materials and coaching sessions that were not instructional, organized or informative and gave no direction. The coach would ask you what you did for the week, answer any question you might have and then tell you to go build your team. This is not a good learning environment and without up to date learning tools there is no way to even begin to learn what they promote. Nate from resolutions extended our cancellation date because he wanted us to try the coaching, which we did and we notified him in a timely manner that we were dissatisfied with the coaching and wanted a full refund. At this point Nate became unavailable.

Representatives of EWI are intentionally deceitful and dishonest and need to be stopped.
