Fairbanks aka Equa Credit
Ruining Lives and Credit ripoff liars victimized us

We purchased a home in July 1999 and EquaCredit Corp was our mortgage company. The day we closed we were forced by their attorney at the closing table to purchase credit life insurance at the cost of $7,000 out of pocket expense or the lawyer would not close the loan. We had to borrow the money that day to close our loan.

We fell behind on our payments 5 months into the mortgage and it took months to work out an extension agreement with them. The week we received our extension papers to sign we also received the next day a release of our mortgage from Equa Credit and from the town hall. Equa credit released our mortgage by mistake.

Instead of selling our home with clean title we contacted the banks attorney and was up front and honest with him to let him know what we received. He was rude and asked if I thought pennies fall from heaven. It took him 6 months to file an affadavit in court to try to get this released reversed.in the mean time we tried to make our mortgage payments and the checks were returned to us in a Bank of Americal envelope.

I had no idea that Bank of American was even involved in our note. Then about a month later we were served foreclosure papers by US National Bank, have no idea who they are either. We were in and out of court with an expense of over $2,000 in legal fees on our end and it was dismissed in May for failure to prosecute.in the beginning of June on a saturday morning at 6:45 there was a man outside out house with a tool box. He was getting ready to board up our home.

With garbage containers at the end of the driveway, a flag hanging a dog barking. How did he think that it was vacant. But this is what he claimed he was protecting the banks interest. The bank... Fairbanks Capitol. Again I had no idea who that was and so I called my attorney. Fairbanks purchased our note from Equa credit. They started sending me statesment, our mortgage is $836.00 a month and they were charging me $800 a month in late fees? Hello??? So I made three payments to them and told them they had to fix the late fees.

After promises and promises and faxes, emails, phone calls and 4 months later and nothing. Spoke to a rep there who would put me on hold for 30 minutes at a time only to be disconnected. I was served foreclosure papers two weeks ago by guess who US NAtional aka Equa Credit. I called Fairbanks and spoke to my rep and he told me not to worry about it, that Equa Credit has nothing to do with Fairbanks. Yeah right, another lie. So I am meeting with my attorney today and I want to start a civil action lawsuit again them both. Any one intersted, please email me. Thank you
