Rip-off! THEY delayed the closing then charged us late fees, foreclosure fees and attorneys fees. Jacksonville

We were to refinance our home of 26 years June. We were told by Fairbanks Capital (our mortgage co) to wait with the June, their paperwork was not done, and July and Aug. Payment and were told we would straighten it out at closing.

We were served with foreclosure papers one evening, and shocked. At closing the fees Fairbanks charged us (We closed the first week in Sept) over $12,000 and has affected our credit rating and have lost property we wanted to buy because of the low credit rating from Fairbanks.

I want not only the money back but restitution for lost money on land that has appreciated since them of over $60,000, and wanted to purchase a similar property but could not get a loan for it either... Plus they told us the closing would be on a day beginning of Sept., got to the attorneys office only to learn Fairbanks still had not faxed and overnighted the paperwork!

My husband and I had taken time off from work (more money gone) to spend the afternoon waiting for Fairbanks to send the papers... They never did. Had to go back the following week and were enraged they had charged all this money. Someone please help us. It has been a nightmare... I want damages, the $12,000 and my credit scores mended asap.
