Scarey scam! Received "collections" letter stating I owed Chase 12,354.96 with 18,363.14 interest! So glad I researched the company before I called the 800 number!

Reading similar stories of the same scam really helped calm my fears. I will be following the advice of calling the FTC and BBB, and will also be sending a certified letter to NCO explicitly stating that I do NOT owe the principal on the notice and totally dispute the alleged debt, and demand validation! The thing that REALLY bothers me is that I know a lot of people are going to be successfully bullied and scamed into paying!
