Preys on old and poor people by offering free meal and micellaneous items, "get rich"

Education & Science

My friend and I were lured in because it seemed like they were going to have a seminar on how to use Ebay, and we are non-profit volunteers trying to raise money. When we got to the Marriott in Amherst NY, the room was filled with people older than us, and we listened to a choreographed description of how you can make a lot of money by doing pretty much nothing, except owning web sites.

My friend and I were going to leave but they said after the sandwiches, they were going to tell us how to raise money for non profits by getting in on grant money. We stayed, and signed up for the "free one month" use of the site, and the $20.00 would be rebated if we left the program with in (I think) 21 days.

That night my friend did a little research and we found out many people were complaining about the company, so we immediately contacted them (no answer) / I sent a certified letter to them in the time frame given, telling them to delete me off their file, rebate my ($40/ for 2) and I forbade them to sell any information that they had coll;ected on me. It was signed and totally ignored, and for 3 months they billed my credit card 2 payments of 24.95.

Yes, I did contest the charges and have numbers for contest with my cc, but the MRN keeps billing me. All this takes much time to call, explain and I finally took the advice of my attorney, to cancel my credit card.

I also contacted the manager at the Marriott, and was never called back. I contacted the attorney general in NY and Nevada. This company has links in Utah according to some info on the net.

We were so upset because the whole program was directed to kind of poor and desperate souls, probably there for free food. We saw people putting food in their purses, and then signing up for this... Whatever they do. We think they sell websites, but arent sure.

We asked about the "seminar", if we gave them the 10$, could they mail us the info (this was before we caught onto the "scam") but the cute little helper basically read off a card about how "hands on this is" and we couldnt possibly get the education without being at their seminar.

This is a highly organized, scarey company.
