I ordered an embroidered receiving blanket from PersonalizedForBaby.com for my niece's christening. I was having her name, the date of the christening, and a little message embroidered on the blanket. When I submitted the order on Thursday 2/6/03, I indicated that the date of the christening was 2/23/03. I found out Friday evening that the date of the christening was actually to be 2/22/03.

First thing Monday morning I began calling and emailing Personalized for Baby to try to get the date changed on the order before they began work on it. I learned quickly that the company's phone number is really just a glorified answering machine - you'll never get a live person. Later Monday morning I received a phone call back from Julie Galbraith (whom I believe is the owner), and she told me that changing the date was no problem, and that the blanket would now say February 22. So I'm thinking all is solved and I'll have my blanket with the right date on it for the christening. When the item shipped I was sent a confirmation email that even noted the date change on the order.

I received the blanket on 2/18/03, the Tuesday before the christening. The wrong date was on the blanket. It had 2/23/03, not 2/22/03. I immediately started calling and emailing the company. I received an email back from Julie saying that they would send a corrected blanket immediately and include a pre-paid UPS label for me to return the other blanket. I was assured that I would receive the new blanket on Friday 2/21/03 in time for the christening the next day.

Well, this was the last I ever heard from Personalized For Baby. I never received the blanket, and despite my many phone calls and emails over the next few weeks, I was completely ignored. I began the process with my bank to have the charge for the blanket removed from my credit card, but my bank said that as long as I had merchandise (the incorrect blanket), there was nothing really they could do. They advised me to send the blanket back to the company return receipt. I did this and Personalized For Baby refused my package!

So I now have a baby blanket with an incorrect date on it that I was not able to give to my niece for her christening, and I'm out $40.61. It's not the money that bothers me, it's the despicable, fraudulent, lying practices of this company. They didn't want to deal with their mistake, so they lied to me and then pretended I didn't exist. I want everyone to know about how untrustworthy this company is, and I am doing my best to spread the word - yes, even now over 4 years later!
