O.S.O. Promotions Hiding Behind Huge Visage

Education & Science

I had received an E-mail from Vanessa Magana (Vanessam@anguianohq.com) congratulating me on sending my resume and telling me how quickly I need to be interviewed. This is taken straight from my E-mail. "To schedule an interview please give me a call at 1-877-738-3339. Due to the overwhelming response to our advertisements it is imperative that we schedule your interview as soon as possible." After that I had called and spoke to a woman who told me more about the position.

I begin to write down everything she told me so that I wouldn't miss any details. She explained that the position was full time, Monday-Friday, and from 8AM - 7PM. She told me that the company did promotions for non-profit organizations like D.A.R.E. And Toys for Tots. I then asked what my basic responsibilities would be. She said that I would be asnwering incoming calls, putting together advertising promotions, doing general office work, data entry, and basically backing up the receptionist.

I asked about pay and she failed to say telling me that it depended on my attitude during the interview. I asked again for someone who has a pleasant attitude and she said she wasn't at liberty to discuss it. She scheduled me for a morning interview on Tuesday. She told me to bring my resume (although it was already E-mailed) and told me to ask for Joe (Corporate Manager) when I got there.

The street is located off 35 near Thousand Oaks. The building is between two hotels called Ruby Inn and Continental Inn. Not that far from Adult Video Megaplex. When I arrived the company's name above the door was O.S.O. Express (not O.S.O. Promotions) and I had to park in the back. The inside was disorganized and I was told to pardon the mess because they were moving. I was handed the application by a young woman named Rebecca who was playing relatively loud music. She kept saying "huh! What?! When someone asked a question. Rebecca then started speaking with a woman named Vanessa on the phone (same woman who E-mailed me).

They seemed more like personal friends than co-workers. While I waited to be interviewed by Joe, Rebecca came from behind the desk and interviewed me instead. Rebecca seemed to be wired up on some kind of stimulant. Her eyes were wide open and she blinked long and heavily.

During the interview she was very direct and proceeded to tell me a slightly different story than the woman I spoke to over the phone before I came. She told me that they were not a call center (which I thought.) She said I would be working from a kiosk set up in a parking lot (not at a desk) and I would be promoting the Marines, D.A.R.E., Toys for Tots, and Direct TV. I would be seeking donations that they would take 20 percent of. Far cry from clerical office work. Pay was still not discussed and would only be discussed upon hiring.

If you see this listing on any website DO NOT apply. It's advertised to make the job seeker believe it's simple data entry/office work. It's a waste of time to drive to especially if you live on the other side of town and not the NE side. Your interview won't last even twenty minutes. I just want to make others aware of this company's visage because their website is so professional and their office isn't.
