Unlawfully got debit card number and illegally drafted account

When we terminated our contract with Dish there was a fee which was to be charged to the credit card used to open the account.instead of charging it to the card Dish did a demand draft on our checking account.

I never give out debit card number or use it online. Dish claims that it was given to them, but it was NOT. The representive we spoke to said he was in India and that although he knew it was illegal, that it wasn't illegal in India.

My concern is not for the money as they would have gotten the money if they had used the credit card as they said they would. It was worth almost any amount to not have to do business with Dish any longer. I am concerned as to how they got the debit card number.

We have had to close the checking account after they drafted six (6) times on the account.

It seems there should be something that can be done against a company that illegally gets debit card numbers and drafts a persons checking account without their authorization or knowledge.

I am currently filing complaints with every agency I can find online. I hope someone will stop Dish from doing this. I know I am not the only one that has had this happen to them.
