Fined late fee for paying early

In July of this year I went on vacation before my Chase credit card bill arrived. I always pay the same amount on the internet. I never use this card for purchases. The payment due date is always the same so I knew how much and when to pay.

When I got home from vacation the bill was waiting for me, just as I suspected. It showed the usual due date and that I owed them a certain amount. I immediately went to the internet to look up my account and it showed that it was passed due and they were charging me a $39 late fee.

I called customer service (what a joke that is!) and explained the situation to them. They said that because I paid before the new bill had been printed and sent they considered my payment not part of the current bill.

This card had a zero percent introductory rate for a certain length of time and we scheduled it to be paid off during that time but because they considered this early payment late the zero percent no long applied. God knows how much they are going to jump it to.

I intend to send a letter to the CEO and every other fat prick that lines their pockets with money from schmucks like me. The moral of the story is, don't ever make an early payment or you will be penalized for it. Unreal. Totally unreal. Avoid this bank at every and all costs.
