High Pressure & intimidating

I received a call from a representative from a company called AmeriLink. She told me that an employee had ordered there on-line service in and we owe for 2005 & 2006. She stated that they had received word that we wanted to cancel our subcription to this on-line Directory service, therefore she will cancel upon receipt of the $496.00 (per year) owed for 2005 & 2006.
I replied, "The employee you refer too is no longer an employee here, and hasn't been for almost 2 years. I will not honor any verbal agreement, made by this employee." She replied with emphasis, " Then I will not cancel your subcription and you will be billed for 2007 and 2008!"

I stated, "I can't believe you just said that. What kind of company renews a subscription, without authorization from the appropriate person in charge." She wanted to know who my superior was. I then ask her who hers was.
She said she was her own boss. I told her, "I want a copy of the signed contract." She took my fax number and hung up. I am still waiting for the signed contract with AmeriLink.

This is an outfit that is intimidating, and ruthless. If I had just begun in the position I hold with my compnay I would have gave in, and authorized payment, for lack of knowing there are other companies/individuals who prey on other companies. Don't pay!!!
