Transfer ripoff before it's too late Don't sign up if you haven't already!

My title describes what I have told several people that either are planning to attend this school or are considering doing so.

This school has a very slick method of either binding students into continuing with them by creating some kind of financial obligation on the student. I began my assocoates program in Nov. scheduled to complete on Nov 12, after all

Previous transcripts were recieved.

Well, three weeks before my scheduled graduation, I recieved an e-mail from one of my many counselors stating that I owe the school 485.00, which would effect my ability to graduate.

Imagine how this felt, while working on strenuous final papers.

Keep, in mind that I recieved financial aid, and student loans. Amist all of Axia's rhetoric, I did complete my course with flying colors (3.5 gpa), but needles to say I have yet to recieve my degree in hand. Oh, did I mention that the money owed dropped mysteriously by 200.00, somewhere in between my mentioning to some counselor (there have been so many), that I spoke with my lender, who informed me that the school recieved more than enough to cover all of my courses, and even sent a
large amount back to them (the Lender).

This situation is more about ethics and principals than about money, especially after becoming aware of this forum and reading the other posts.

Oh, I forgot to mention that my last class with Axia was the Legal, and Ethics in business practices. Something along those lines, which is a required business class. It seems that Axia should take a review course. Because it is very lax in that area.

In spite of my humor, I am very hurt, I am a 50ish returning college student, whose family watched me work very hard in trying to aquire this degree, my young grown children are wondering why, after contemplating attending this same college. I have advised them and a few people that have already enrolled,
