Automatic payment not processed, tried to make me pay late fees. Ripoff

I have my payments taken out automatically on the 13th of each month and each was done sucessfully until March. I have only made 3 payments as I recently purchased my car and on the 15th of March I noticed that the funds had not been withdrawn. I contacted Drive Financial on my own to notify them that my money had not been taken out and I spoke to the rudest customer service rep. Ever!

She informed me that I could make a payment over the phone and pay an additional $11.00 for the service. I explained to her that I would not pay for something when it was not my fault. We went round and round and I asked to speak to her manager. She told me she WAS the manager and I asked to speak to her boss. She told me his name was Anthony and that he was on vacation (how convienient, huh?) Anyway, I still told her that I was not going to pay the service charge and she told me that she would mark my file late and then hung up on me!

I called back and was able to talk to a woman named Rashida. Thank God for her! She noted my file not delinquent and told me not to send a payment in case they over-lapped. I was then told to contact her again in 2 days and we would try again. I did so, and we processed the payment over the phone and I was waived the fees.

I am terrified that this will continue to happen and ruin my credit. I am on the path of repairing my past credit history and I have worked very hard to do so.

I would like to be involved in any lawsuit brought upon this company. I can only think that had it not been for my strong refusal to pay for a mistake that I did not make then they would have gotten two payments as well as the service fee from me.

Please let's do something about this. Everywhere you turn people always tell you that we should all take a stand for those that can't. Let's do it people! We can't let them get away with this any longer.

What if I never get that helpful customer service rep again and the nightmare continues?!
