Paid for book on Oscars, company never responded

On 9-26-06 I purchased the book "The Academy Awards" by Gail Kinn from Best Seller Books Direct. The transaction was made on ebay and paid for through Pay Pal. Since the purchase was made the seller is no longer registered on ebay.
The seller stated that the delivery would take 10-21 business days. It is now 12-31-06 and no delivery has been made.
On 11-1-06 I sent my first email to the seller. I have sent a total of 12 emails to the seller and have only received a form email telling me to contact them through customer support, which is what I had been doing.
I have made a total of six phone calls to the above number. I have only contacted their answering machine and they have not ever responded to any of the calls. There is no listing for this business in Mount Vernon IA Directory Assistance, and no record of this phone number.
As of 12-29-06, their store was not accessible on line. Google could not find any listing for bestsellerbooksdirect.com. They could not even find the http:// listing for this store any longer.
I have tried to contact the seller using wooly1974@yahoo.com.
The messages have been sent (through aol) so someone has gotten them.
The book only cost $5.73, the S & H charges brought the total for my purchase to $18.88. I don't see why they go to the trouble of ripping someone off for little.
As I was trying to be fair to the seller and afford them every opportunity to make good on the purchase, I have gone past the 60 day Dispute Resolution deadline on ebay and the 45 day deadline with Pay Pal. There was a small disclaimer from the seller stating that it could actually take six weeks rather than 10-21 business days as officially stated.
So, I waited and waited, sending email after email hoping that they were reputable and honest.
They may be finally out of business, as I only was able to get close to their web site by going back through my ebay account history which brought up a page giving contact information for the store.
This store also lists a number in California which is totally bogus.
