Ripoff JK Harris needs to be stopped! Charleston South Carolina

Yes, I am another victim! In desperation and scared that the IRS will take everything away from us, I too fell for all the JK Harris's advertising. We hired them 1 1/2 years ago for the following:

A: Filing 2004 taxes, Prepare Installment agreement with the IRS. Total cost $1200.00
B: 12 month Financial Recovery System, (help us with our credit report and monitoring)... Total cost $1090.00
C: Financial Planning, (to help us how to budget our money better)... Total cost $750.00.

Let me start with A. First they filed our 2004 taxes with our daughters wrong SS#. After contacting them many times to have this corrected, no response to my concern at all.

We did have a case worker we were dealing with, in the beginning I sent her financial statements, everything she requested.in Nov/Dec after numerious phone calls to her (never called me back) she claims that the IRS wants $500.00 a month for 5 years.

I explained to her I can not afford that and we are looking to get the funds from our 401K plan to pay them in full. Called her back the next day (which to my surprise, she answered the phone!)

I let her know that 401 would not let us take monies out to pay for IRS taxes and she said they will let the IRS know. I left many messages on her voicemail to find out our status, no return call. After many calls, again she FINALLY answered her phone and claims she needs our financial statements again.

This went on for 10 months, everytime I would call her, she needed financial statements again! 3 weeks ago, IRS put a federal lien on our home and my wages. Left more messages for her, and again.

FINALLY she answered. She again asked for my fiancial statement. I asked her how come she needs it so many times and she "claims" I was not on her "desk top" and I fell through the cracks and that I am better off calling the IRS myself. Why did I pay you guys all this money and now I have to call the IRS to resolve this? She said "I know". I called the IRS, and they were extremely nice! What was I afraid of? After doing a financial statement with them, they put us in a non-collectable status, knowing we have no extra cash. IRS says JK Harris never called them at all!!!

Now, the "other" 2 contracts. The 12 month recovery systems, all they did was run a credit report and sent it to us, $1090.00 for a credit report??? Never heard from them again. The financial planning, sent a book, with things in it we already knew, never heard from them again.

So for $3,040 I received only but headaches! I could of use those funds to pay some of my IRS debt, instead they "stole" money from me. This company is preying on people like us, that have no money to begin with and are stealing from us. This should be totally ILLEGAL!

I wished I did alittle research before I hired them. I learned my lesson and will search companies before I spend another penny on anyone! What goes around comes around and bad practicing goes around a lot faster than good ones, I truly believe, the more of us tell people we know, the less business this company will get and eventually be out of business.

I am going to be filing a small claims action against them and I hope many others do the same!
