False checks sent to you from a Fraudulent Company ripoff

I hope some reads this before it's too late. My wife received a letter and a check for $1990.00 from "insgton clearinghouse" and wanted us to deposit it into our account. This didn't seem right so I did my reasearch and found out that this was a scam.

I called the bank that was on the check and they said that I was about the 500 person that day that called about the funds of the check. So I hope you good people out there haven't been taken by these suckers. I'm currently giving the information to my local news media to try and stop them from doing this to someone.
