Did Not Pay Insurance From Escrow Ripoff

Ok I really Do not know if anyone can help or if I even came to the right place, but I will give it a shot anyway. Back in August I lost my home to a major fire. When I came home to find my house full of black smoke and in a shambles from the fire department breaking out all the windows I did what any other person would do and contacted my insurance company only to find out that my Insurance policy had been cancelled. I was devistated. SO I had no other choice, but to call the mortgage company and find out what was going on. Well apparently when my mortgage company was bought by Washington Mutual, Washington Mutual was having a hard time keeping up with all there new clients, so they say they forgot to pay my insurance premium out of my escrow account. There for my insurance was cancelled and I was never notified of this, because Washington Mutual took it upon themselves to put a force Placed insurance policy on the home only. The fire occured and I was Stuck having no insurance to cover all of my personal belongings. Let me just say I am a single, disabled mom of a 9 yr old boy at the time and Had to move in with my parents, because I had no way of refurnishing my home on my own without the insurance. This company even sent me a letter of apology, stating they were sorry for the mistake, but never offered to pay for a thing. I have contacted a few lawyers, but no one will help me. Can someone please help me before the statue of limitations runs out??? I have all the neccesary paperwork needed to prove my case. I am sick of being taken advantage of by all these big corporations. Beware of this company. They have gotten to big and do not care about there customers at all.
