Ripoff beware of wal-mart gift card scam

I had a Wal-mart gift card with about $7 of credit left. When I went to use it the cashier could not get the card to ring up. I told her that CVS has the same problem sometimes and just key the number in to get my balance. The cashier did but nothing would come up at all. The Waltons just swindled me out of $7.
When I talked to the store manager he told me that hackers were stealing customers' credits off the gift cards through the computer. I told him that does not speak too highly of Wal-Mart's internal computer security and I want my $7 back plus to be reimbursed for my inconvience. He gave me a $25 gift card which I immediately used because I had the feeling that if I left the store and returned, the card would not work.
Try and keep track of your remaining balance AND NEVER TRUST WAL-MART.
