Fingerhut Midland Credit Management ripoff

Help!

I was a victim of id theft back in 2000. I thought that I had taken care of everything, but when I went to apply for a loan, I found that my credit report was a disaster.

Mainly, the person had charged about 250.00 with Fingerhut Jan. It was "CO" (? Charged off) Sept. Midland got involved July until present.

When I found this out, I wrote Midland a letter saying that I wished to dispute this. They sent me a copy of the FingerHut bill-Well, the order was under the id theft person and the address was to a place where I have never lived.

Where do I go from here?
As most of know, this is very unsettling; I have always been good about paying my debt and would have a clean credit report otherwise. I have spent many years on my education and want to buy a house, but thanks to these people, most mortgage co's are not willing to risk loaning me money without an extremely high interest rate.

Any help that anyone out there can provide would be much appreciated!
