Bruce Berman
The Berman Investment Group deceptive matketing practices, multiple addresses, misleading ripoff

Education & Science

I am so thankful for this website, it has saved me so many times from being taken by Internet scammers and deceitful companies. As normal practice now, before responding to any ad that sounds too good to be true, I now run an Internet search using www.mamma.com and 9 times out of 10 I will see the person and/or company listed on consumer complaints as a scam and will often find other areas on the Internet where people have reported the same thing.

Thankfully I did my due diligence on BRUCE BERMAN and sure enough—scam thru deception!

I received an email from a Bruce Berman affiliate today (UNSOLICITED TOO), with a header on the email that read. "What the Super Rich Don't Want You to Know." Out of curiosity I clicked it and my email opens up to an HTML graphic ad that says I can earn $5,000 to $15,000 a month or more. It has a fancy picture of 2 books and a CD with the following enticing phrases, "GET YOUR FREE BOOK AND CD PACKAGE NOW - CLICK HERE" and this phrase too, "A $100 VALUE FREE."

The ad also said that I could "START MAKING MONEY IN 30 DAYS." A picture of Bruce Berman was in the ad and underneath his picture it said, "Entrepreneur of the Year-Nominee, Millionaire and Author." Of course the information on who nominated him was missing so for all you know Bruce could be making up the information. I tend to think he made it up since after reading all the consumer complaintss on this website and doing my own due diligence, I am convinced Bruce is a scam since he cloaks his true intentions in fancy words and areas within his website that you would not think of going to in order to find out more information and what the catch is for his $100 in free books and a CD.

The $100 in free books is a down and outright lie as you will see. The bottom lins is you basically end up paying $4 in shipping today and then $100,30 days later.

I decided to do some WHOIS searching on Bruce Berman at networksolutions and conveniently his main website of www.TheBermanDifferential.com is blocked so you cannot see who owns the site and where the physical address of the owner is.

So I then went to 411 and did an ADDRESS search just to see if the address of Bruce Berman's company was merely a PMB box at a UPS Store, formerly Mail Boxes Etc.in my search it appears as though his company actually has a physical location in Newport Beach.

I then clicked on the email that was sent to me and up pops this fancy web page with an animated Bruce talking and telling you to fill out the form for your free information. The first form just asks for your name and address and no credit card information so you think this guy is legit. Then the next screen pops up and there it is... Now a credit card is needed to handle the $3.95 postage fee. (I always wonder why does someone need a measly $3.95 if they are willing to give away products worth $100!)

So I read the fine print below where the credit card info is requested and here is what it says verbatim: "How it works, "I am so confident that you will become a loyal user of my products that I am giving you my best selling book, "I GOT HERE. YOU CAN TOO!" And my "Making Money" CD for FREE. You just help by paying a small refundable shipping and handling fee. Our guarantee to you is very simple, If you don't make money or are unhappy for any reason with the free book and CD within 30 days from our shipping date simply call our toll free number: 1 (877) 237 6265 Monday through Friday 7:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. PST and arrange for a refund of your shipping and handling fee. We are giving you these two products for free as a thank you for considering the entire Aggressive WealthSM program. Take up to 30 days and decide if you want the balance of the Aggressive WealthSM program, if you elect not to take advantage of this exceptional offer and you decide you do not want the balance of the Aggressive WealthSM program, simply call our toll free number (within 30 days from our shipping date) to process your cancellation and we will cheerfully give you a return authorization number and cancel your order and you will owe nothing. At the end of the consideration period if you decide you want the rest of the program, do nothing and your credit card will conveniently be billed only one payment of just $99.90. That's an incredible value for these fine products. I have helped thousands of people and businesses achieve their financial goals and I am so convinced that I can help you, I am giving you two of my fine products for free."

And there contained within the micro-fine print is the catch that you really do not understand if you glance over it. The catch is there; it says, "We are giving you these two products for free as a thank you for considering the entire Aggressive WealthSM program. Take up to 30 days and decide if you want the balance of the Aggressive WealthSM program. At the end of the consideration period if you decide you want the rest of the program, do nothing and your credit card will conveniently be billed only one payment of just $99.90."

Now you see why Bruce wants your credit card to cover less than $4 in shipping costs, it is so that he can bill you $99.90,30 days from the day Bruce shipped the product to you, so if you do not receive your order until 7 days after it was shipped, you really have 23 days to examine the additional material that was sent to you without you actually knowing what you got your self into via the fine print. Apparently from reading other reports, you are unknowingly sent 4 additional CDs which is the Aggressive WealthSM program that costs you $99.90 30 days later.

It is interesting to note that if you click on the CONTACT US at the bottom of the initial screen where you entered your address, that your email goes to someone at www.BruceABerman.com. When I did a "whois" search at networksolutions I found another physical location for Bruce A. Berman's company which is 2967 Michelson Dr. Suite G, Irvine, CA 92612 and what was interesting is that the phone numbers were the same as the business address in Newport Beach.

There were other areas I found deceptive advertising within Bruce's website.

On the very first page where you enter your address (it's the page where you think you are going to get the free stuff), you will see at the bottom right corner the following words, "ACT NOW, We Will Include A Bonus FREE 30-Day Aggressive Wealth Trial" This should be the first clue that you are getting involved with something more than $100 in free books and a CD. The word TRIAL indicates that you are going to be charged for something after 30 days.

Also, at the very bottom of the initial page where you enter your address, you will see in micro-print, a clickable link named "Return Policy". It is hard to see it because it is a slightly lighter shade of blue on top of a darker blue. When I clicked on the "Return Policy" link I saw the same information as previously listed above where I copied the fine print underneath where you enter your credit card information. But I question why is the additional Aggressive WealthSM program hidden in the fine print?

I apologize for this report being long, but I hope I have shed some light on what to look for in these "Get some stuff free but all we need is your credit card to cover shipping" type ads that we all receive.

Always expect that the free thing you are getting comes with a catch, especially if a credit card is needed.

More than likely the way you get rich is the same way Bruce and his affiliates are trying to get rich, and that is by sending out the same ad and trying to find other people to fall for the Bruce Berman Aggressive WealthSM program using deceptive advertising.

Always read the fine print on these sites. If it is confusing to you on exactly what it says then there is a reason for that. It is purposely done so that you do not know that you are signing up for more that you bargained for!

If the fine print confuses you than do not enter your credit card and click off the website.

Also, when someone claims you can make $5K to $15K or more in 30 days, do not believe them. It really takes about 90 days to read up, study and implement any program that is truly legitimate.in this case you do not even have 30 days. You get the remainder of your 30 days from the day it was shipped out to you.

When companies and people have to sell their products with shifty phrases and confusing words in the fine print instead of being up front in large words that are easy to understand, then stay away from them. They use these misleading tactics intentionally because they know if they said the cost of this program is $99.90 plus $3.95 shipping, that they would get fewer sales.

I leave you with this: BUYER BEWARE. ESPECIALLY ON THE INTERNET and that there is no such thing as free if there is a credit card or checking account number request.
