Misrepresents nature of services. Ripoff

We were contacted by Debra Laughry of Copeland Marketing an solicited about listing our Poconos timeshare with them. We were told that we could get around $26,000 for our unit and that they had an upcoming event and that they would have our unit sold in 2 months.

A year and $400 later, none of my telephone calls has ever been returned.

I demanded a refund and was told on 3/31 that I would be called the next day by someone named Brandy who would give me a refund confirmation number. I was faxed on 4/4 and was informed that no refund would be forthcoming.

Not surprisingly, their BBB membership was revoked.

Of interest is a note on the BBB Reliability Report which states:

"The BBB has requested that the company provide substantiation that individual properties are promoted or advertised and that any offers to purchase were accepted as a result of their marketing program. We are currently awaiting the company's reply."

So am I.

I am about to file a complaint in small claims court for breach of contract and fraud. I have also filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

I am also planning complaints with the PA and NJ AG's offices.

I want to make sure they don't rip off anyone else.
