Ripoff total scam

I received a call on Dec. 13th about a grant that I had been rewarded for being a U.S. Taxpayer. They said that I should receive all legal documents, grocery coupons, healthcare and the money in bank account within 24 hours. Well, today I did not receive any of the above and called the place back to check the status.

Needless to say, on this second call is when I figured out this place was a SCAM. The guy (with a thick Indian accent) stated he could not find my information. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, he got very defensive and rude to me on the phone. So, while he is talking, I do a search on the internet and find all of these complaints.

I immediately hang up the phone with him and call my bank. I explain the situation to them and they instruct me to immediately go to a branch and close my account. I go to the local branch and explain everything to them. At first they were going to close my account but then decided to not allow anything from that company (Advantage America) to pass through. They did not a stop payment and charging me for it!

If anyone knows of a way to pursue legal action against this company please let me know.
