Ripoff tried to rip me off

I recieved a call on my cell phone just after i got home today, and it was from a private number. It sounded at first like a telemarketer but later on i found out it was someone trying to give me money. While i would love for someone to give me money it doesnt exactly happen that way. I became suspicious when i asked where they were from and he gave me the name of a state and he really couldnt pronounce that! As the conversation went on he asked for an account number and said that they would need that to deposit the money into. I gave them the account number to an account that didnt have any money in it, but just in case i called to make sure noone could access it. Soon after he transfered me over to his boss to get an authorization number and then he sends me to a voice automated thing that i was to record my full name, account number, and address on.in the middle of that i couldnt really trust it anymore and i hung up. They called right back and asked why i hung up. I told them i didnt trust this and that i did not feel comfortable recording my voice and while they were trying to convince me that it was for verification purposes i told them i didnt want their money and hung up the phone. And like everything else i get in my email it was a scam.
