PayPal Deception
I had a nightmarish two weeks trying to claim money owed me. The buyer of my item paid me right away, but it took forever to receive the credit in my Paypal account. First they would not send a link or code to confirm my email address.

Days later and countless hours of writing emails and phone calls to customer support, I got my address confirmed to discover the account had been locked. Days later and with no satisfactory response as to why it was locked, they unlocked it.

Thinking I was home free, I click on the link to claim my money, and it leads me to a page that says I should upgrade my account to a costlier one. There is a button to accept and one to deny. I click on the deny button, beleiving I had merely denied the upgrade, and find they had cancelled my claim as I had denied receiving payment. Right, I really wanted that.

Days go by and even after I gave up and upgraded the account, they still are determined not to let me have it. Luckily for me, the buyer worked with me and we managed to redo the transaction from the start.

This was the most frustrating time I have had in years. And the site where you accept or deny the upgrade was boldly deceptive. If that is'nt fraud or even extortion, I don't know what is.
