Ripoff! Heavy Middle Eastern Accent with American Name! Watch Out! Philadelphia

A man with a middle easternern accent called my wife up on 10/25/05. He stated that because she was a tax payer she is eligible for $25,000.00 Gov. Grant that we do not have to pay back. He said that they got her info from Trans Union and Equifax.

(Wife:) He said that all he needed was my account info to guarantee that the money gets sent to the right person by sending to money to my bank instead of by mail and that a bank manager will contact me with the other documents to take thier (United Services) fee out.

He said that the company fee is $289.89 and that it would be taken out of the grant once it was put into my account on Oct. 29 (Sat.)

At the end of the conversation, he put me on hold to start recording the info to verify info given. I held on the line to get him back because I didn't have the number to thier customer service. The number he gave went nowhere.

On Oct. 27, he called me back again. SAME MAN! Gave me a different name, so I asked to talk to a floor manager. She was also middle eastern, she gave me the zip code of 53012 the zip code for Pennsyvania (it's for Wisconsin) and became very irritated right before telling me, ". Well, there must of been a mistake when you did this before so your name came up again. If you don't want the money, we will take you off the calling list."

After the "manager" got on the phone, they abruptly disconnected before I could say another word. We did however find a cust. Care number that requsted you leave your name and number for a rep. To call you back. 1-866-384-8185.

I did give them my bank account #, because I remember hearing that this kind of thing went on, luckly my account was $0 balance and am going to change the account number immediately! Got lucky! But we are still waiting!
