National Awards Commission
Ripoff mailing scam, drawing to win $1,000, 000

Education & Science

I would like to thank everyone else who took the time to write about this scam. I just bought a house and then lost my job, so you can imagine I was freaking out and in need of some money. So I got kinda excited when a letter came in the mail claiming I could win $1 million dollars. It seemed too good to be true and I felt "scam" written all over it. It was asking me to mail in $11.89 with no phone number, email address, website, or fax or physical address at all. I got scared and thought how much money they could make off $11.89 from even 100 people = $1,189.00. Off 5,000 people, $59.450!!!

This letter says I would have to respond in 7 days. 7 days from when? They day they mailed it? There is no postmark date on the envelope by the post office. And the letter was written on 09/11/05 at 9:30am according to the date printed on it. However, I didn't get it in the mail until 09/21/05!!! So 7 days from 09/11/05 clearly already passed. I totally believe this is a scam and wanted to warn others not to send them your money.

I went to www.google.com and looked up National Awards Commission and found other fraud and scam reports. I thank those who have taken the time to voice their experience with this company and I thank complaint for always being there with a listing to keep us safe. Thank you!!!
