My friend and I were 17 and were introduced to my friend's uncle, Raul Varela. He wanted us to make a website for him. So my friend and I worked for several days and several all nighters making his website. He threw out several ideas and finally settled on one. Right before finalization, he started talking about starting a start up business together for cd business cards by using our website design skills.

In the excitement we forgot about the payment for the website and started working hard, preparing templates for the cds. We wasted several months working out of an office which he some how rented. He BSd so much about the future and exaggerates about the product and salesman to other people. He lies to them.

Do not work with Raul Varela. He ripped off a Temp Company by never paying them. When it came time to pay, he locked the doors to the office, hid inside, and pretended like the office was closed. When the people left, he snuck into his truck and drove off. We started going into business with a printer who would help make carrying cases for the cds. He promised him a share in the profits. He got people to print logos on the windows for free by promising free business cd cards. No one ever got anything.

One day, he abruptly said he had to go to new york for a day. On the next day when he supposedly left for new york, the power was cut off in our building and the printer partner had to pay several hundred to turn it back on. Raul Varela conveniently showed up the next day. He never paid the printer back. He never paid anyone anything. On top of that, one day I came into work to find everything gone. Everything was completely cleared out of the office. He did not even tell me, his partner from the beginning. This was my first taste of business and I was foolish and gulligble.

My concept that most people are essentially good was shattered. I went to talk to the landlord and he had no idea where he was.in fact, according to the landlord, Raul Varela still owed several thousands of dollars in rent. Raul Varela never paid for anything and is a huge scam artist who hopes to make it big but covers his own butt by never paying for anything himself.

He's an entrepreneur that leaves the risk taking to everyone else and BSs about how much money and time he puts in. EVERYONE beware of this man. Raul Varela will rip you off.
