Paula, # 829 called and said I was entitled to a Federal Government Grant of at least $8,000. I asked her how, and she said I was chosen from a list of names that the Governemnt uses to chose families to give grants to. It is a chance pick that thousands of citizens get chosen from by the government, as it helps the economy, and helps people get back on their feet financially. She asked what I would do with the money and I told her it would go for my daughter's education. She then told me I could be entitled for up to $25,000 based on the need, so I could apply for more.
She said she would put me on with her supervisor who would give me the information about the packet I would receive for the paperwork I would need to do to apply for even more grants but so they could direct deposit the money into the account, they needed my information, but nothing would be done until I verify it with her supervisor.
Like an IDIOT, I gave her the info. THEN she says, before I put you on with my supervisor, it will cost you a $257.00 for the work we did in helping to get you this grant, and you can pay it on Jan. 24, You don't even have to pay it today. I told her she should have been upfront about it costing money and anything from the government wouldn't cost anything and they are a rip-off. I told her NOT to take anything out and she said it was being recorded. She continued trying to make me feel guilty for losing out on the money I was losing out of assistance for my daughters education and why would I do that to her?
I told her I am saying NO and do NOT take anything out of the account and I am reporting you to everyone I can. She was saying something about being legal and a legit government agency as I hung up on her.
She called back 3 times in a row and I never answered the phone.
