Mike Rogers Lied numerous times, over 2 months late, poor workmanship, substituted inferior/cheap material (committed fraud)

We ordered our cabinets the end of May with a 12 week lead time.installation was supposed to begin 8/17. The beginning of August we checked with Mike Rogers to make sure he was running on time before he gutted our kitchen the following week. He apologized for not returning my emails and said he had been crazy busy and that they are running late because his wife was out on maternity leave but he could start installation the last week of August so to go ahead and gut my kitchen. I had this all planned out to minimize our time without a kitchen, we have 2 young children and one has special needs. The end of August came and he said he was running behind because of vacations, in September I think the excuse was scheduler having knee surgery, in October it was an employee had a death in the family. After sending numerous emails & phone calls almost daily, having a lot of stress, anxiety and sleepless nights, living with no kitchen (only a pedestal sink with clean dishes on my bathroom floor and microwave meals), they finally showed up to install the lower cabinets on October 4th. There were many quality issues: gaps between cabinets & the wall, fillers, wood split apart, nails popping out of face frames and multiple visible nail holes. I asked Mike to come out and look at these issues on Monday.instead he called me Monday to say that one of the installers here last week resigned that morning (other one had said he wanted to quit), he was down to 2 employees, having cash flow problems and it would be another 4-5 weeks before he could afford to order & pay for our doors & drawers. We asked for our $8,000 deposit back and he said it would be at least 4-5 months before he could provide that. He had spent our deposit on other things... We refused to give him any more $. He pleaded for us to let him finish the job and promised that we would be happy with the final result. It took almost another 4 weeks for them to finish. Cracks, splitting wood, nail holes were not repaired, merely covered up. Touch up paint used did not match. We ordered Benjamin Moore Dove White had painted trim & doors in the room prior. The cabinets were not BM Dove White but Sherwin Williams which do not match. We also ordered solid maple fronts, doors, drawers, boxes and we discovered that he used poplar, miscellaneous hardwood, MDF panels and aspen boxes. We refused to make any more payments and we are contemplating a law suit. I would like to warn everyone to please stay clear of Mike Rogers at Home Kitchens. I would hate to have anyone else suffer the stress, inconvenience, anger, frustration and deceipt that he has caused us.
