After having carpet installed in several rooms in my home there were problems which I addressed to Rite Rug. They corrected a couple of things that were wrong (a broken water line that they damaged when laying carpet in one of the bathrooms was one) and one of the other problems. The main problem, which was damage to my cable which was underneath the old carpet was ignored.
I had a cable line underneath the existing carpet and when the installers removed the existing carpet to lay down the new carpet the cable was somehow damaged and I couldn't get my cable/tv to work. After calling about this I was told by the store manager that "why would anyone be so stupid as to lay the cable underneath the carpet and it wasn't their policy to put the rug on top of cable" The fact was that at no time was I told this until AFTER THE FACT was an issue and if this was the policy of Rite Rug to NOT lay carpet on top of cable why did their installers do it?
After several e-mails back and forth to the General Manager of Rite Rug they totally washed their hands of the problem and refused to do anything about the cable. Total lack of Customer Service/Good Will has resulted in another unhappy customer.
Needless to say, I would never, ever, recommend Rite Rug to my friends or family and will never patronize them again. Such a simple problem that could have been corrected and they took a "so what" attitude. Their loss.
