Dinettes for Less
No table & no refund ripoff

Ordered dinette set with designer tabletop to the tune of almost $900. Received completely incorrect top which was of far inferior quality & appearance. Did not match the rest of the set or even resemble what I actually ordered. Called to alert company of mistake, was treated with little concern. Was required to return incorrect top at my own inconvenience, was told that the correct top had been ordered, but was not exactly the same as the one in the showroom. I needed to look at it to determine if it was o.K. It was the same exact incorrect top I had already received!

Company tells me it will now cost an additional $700 to receive the correct top.

Company refuses to refund my money or give me the correct top unless I cough up the additional $700. They did offer to refund me $30 for the difference in price between the top I received & the top I ordered. Hmmm... Do the math. $700 to get the correct top, $30 refund to accept the incorrect top - how can both of those statements be true?

Now I have a useless table base with no top. The main reason I selected this set was for the top - it was very unique & looked great. The one on display in the store is damaged, so I can't request that one.

If I am unable to get a refund, I will have to find another top. This will cost even more time & money, since I will be buying it separately & get no discount for being part of a set. If it has to be special ordered, I may have to wait several weeks, so here I am with $900 out of pocket & no dining room table for an indefinite period of time.
