Scott Kenith, Inc. Con-man! Hires illegals and does not honor workmanship in spite of written guarantee and WARRANTY

Hired S & S Roofing and Home Repairs/Scott Kenith to do some remodeling to our home in May. We are first time homeowners and extremely excited with the purchase of our home. Part of the remodeling included installing laminate flooring in the house. We were told by the foreman, Jim, that the floor in our house would have to be leveled in several places and that they would put down a sealant to keep the moisture out.

Approximately 2 1/2 months ago the floor started to buckle and actually separate/break apart. There are portions of the floor that have raised 4-6 inches and are just crumbling. We attempted to contact Mr. Kenith but were unable to get a response from him for several weeks. My husband finally tried calling him from a different phone and he answered on the second ring. He told Scott that we were having problems with the floor and asked if he would come by to take a look. Scott said he would send the foreman, Jim out that day. He never showed up. A week later I sent Scott an email and asked why the foreman never showed up and he said he had been on vacation but he would send him that afternoon.

The foreman did show up at the house that afternoon. As soon as he saw the condition of the floors he became nervous. He told me the man who did the floors (his name was Angel) was arrested for an expired tag - released on bond and moved to Mexico. He was here illegally!!! Said that they did not have anyone who knew how do flooring work and he would get Scott to return with him to take a look.

Two days later the owner, Scott and Jim, the foreman, came to the house together. They brought a moisture reading device with them. They took readings throughout the house and said they would get back with me. I received an email from Scott saying that they detected a moisture problem in our house and that was the cause of the floors condition. He said it was "not a warranty issue".

We received a 5 year warranty from this company for his work. 100 % guaranteed satisfaction.

He has disconnected his original phone number and the number associated with his company S & S Roofing (404) 775-0485. Had illegals doing work in our home and now not honoring the work or the warranty. Closes down one company and opens a business with a new name to keep working. Bad news.
