First American Home Buyers Protection
Rip-off! Lied, lied, and lied again! Never repaired A/C!

In March we had A/C problems and a company was sent out to repair it. They, American Service Technicians, in Humble, TX refused to enter our attic to work on the unit and insisted it only needed freon added. My husband finally got them to also replace a worn out contact.

Six weeks later this same unit was no longer cooling. Fleet A/C and Heating located at 15340 Kuykendahl, Houston, TX was dispatched by First American Home Buyers Protection (Protection... What a joke!) After two days someone came out. He seemed to be very caring and knowledgeable. This was on July 15. Today is August 9 and the coil he found leaking in our attic has still not been replaced. Had the first company went into the attic, it could have been repaired then and saved us an extra $55.00 service call.

Now that nothing has been done we have called First American Home Protection on a daily basis. Fleet A/C has lied to us on an almost daily basis about being here from 8:00 to 10:00 then 10:00 to 2:00, it just goes on until 7 or 8 o'clock at night and they never show up and have no regard to the time we loose off work waiting for them to show up. We report this to a "new" person at First American every time we call and they could care less. Now they tell us the dispatcher will call us right back. Something that never happens. It is obvious that these people who answer the 800 number for service must be working out of their homes setting up service calls. When you tell them you spoke with "whomever" and would like to speak to them again, they don't know who "whomever" is! You can't reach a manger, supervisor or dispatcher.

In short First American Home Buyers Protection is a rip-off who is in business to make a quick buck off the realtors that promote their business for them as a tool to help sell a used home! In our opinion one they get the money for the policy, they could care less if you ever get any service out of them.

The whole thing is a friggin' joke and I highly recommend NO ONE taking out a policy with them.insist on someone else when you purchase your home and for heavens sake's do not renew the policy at the end of the one year warranty that comes with your home. You think it sounds like good inexpensive coverage, but you are paying for NO service.
