Almost Got Ripoff

After a good 3 hr demo, I bought it at $1500. The man tried to hit on me when he was in my bedroom vacuuming my mattress. Very slimey and unprofessional! He said Kirby had 12 times the suction of other vacs and it will last "forever." After going to this site and reading Consumer Report (They say you can get an excellent one for $150- $300. No need to spend more. You won't get better quality if you pay more.), I returned it after 2 days.

He was not happy. He borrowed a pen, put it in his pocket and said he'd return it in a week. He never did. Can't he afford one on his salary? He said he works 4 days/wk at $1000 and that I should join his team. At ripping people off? No thanks.

He said I could really help him if I bought at $1200 (at that $ he wasn't making any money), so he could win a trip to Catalina. He can afford to take himself at $1000/wk. Who's helping me go to Catalina? I make less than he does. They really tug on people's sympathy.

He dumped all the dust in the vac back onto my carpet and I couldn't clean it for a week b/c he took my old one to charity. He made a mess cleaning up the vac parts in my bathroom. He said my old vac wasn't doing anything for my carpet. Funny, I'm always dumping dust, hair, and junk from the bagless container.
He asked me out again and said "we could have a good time." I ignored him.

When I went to his office he made me wait outside of his office and listen to a bunch of customer testimonials of how they loved it and wanted to buy it. He tried to get me to buy a used one for $600. He also tried to get me to go out with him again. I said no to both offers and ran away as fast as I could with my trusty old Dirt Devil Jaguar that rated as excellent in cleanning by Consumer Report.

I've talked to people since and it does break down, it doesn't "last forever." The repairs are expensive and the centers may be far and the shampooer is not good. The stains came back on my carpet after he did it two months ago. Kirbys are not superior than other vacs and the one salesman I came across was very unprofessional.
