Kirby salesman
Wont take no for an answer - Kirby Vacuum

Today I had a kirby salesman come to my door. Normally I say no thank you to soliciting, but they said they just needed one more carpet to clean and then they could be done and out of the rain. Reluctantly I agreed for them to clean my 5x7 rug (the only carpet in the house) and listen to their spiel about Kirbys. I don't like to be rude to people, but after an hour and a half of watching and listening about everything the kirby can do I was getting irritated already. My 2 young children were getting cranky and it was as if these people were not hearing a word I was saying. I understand salesman have to be a little persistant, but they were rediculous. I do not have the money to buy a kirby (i thought i was doing them a favor by letting them clean my rug, but that was no doubt a lie) How many times do I have to degrade myself and say that I live paycheck to paycheck for them to accept my answer? I feel now that I told them way more than was any of their business about my financial situation just to try to get them to understand I can not afford a kirby, and the more I think about that, the angrier I get because i should not have had to justify why I cant buy one. After they kept making different payment plans for me I said even if i thought we might be able to swing it, I would have to talk to my husband before making such a large investment. Their response was that in a good marriage the couple trusts each other enough to make purchases with out consulting in each other. Still trying to maintain my cool I said that I am not purchasing a vacuum today, you are wasting your time and sorry if I wasted yours. So then one of them said to me, " So you are ok with your children playing in a dirty house?" (because the kirby picked up the stuff my bissel left behind in one of their demonstrations.) I wish that I would have just went off on them and kicked them out, but that's not who I am and my children were there. I am just really upset about this because there is a line that shouldn't be crossed and I feel they crossed it. I must have said no atleast 50 times and they were still going on. I will never again listen to any spiel that arrives at my door.
