Stupid warranty ripoff next time - instead of the warranty, buy duct tape. It's much cheaper, and much more reliable

I purchased a brand new fridgedare refrigerator at best buy 5 years ago. Of course, I was talked into the wonderful service plan. Within less than one year, the deli drawer would no longer stay in place unless it was empty. You put something in it, and within seconds, it fell completely out of (socket? - I don't know what the technical word for that would be!).

A few months after that, the shelves on the inside of the door began to fall out. This may not have been so much of a problem except they were attached directly to the inner door lining, and it was cracking where the doors were attached. Keep in mind I lived ALONE at the time. I didn't have huge amounts of food in there, no kids pulling on the doors etc...

Good thing I had purchased the warranty, right? WRONG Even though it had only been less than two years, and my warranty was good for 3 (though this was hard to prove because the ink from my reciept had faded to the point you could no longer read it!), they did not honor it.

Apparently, the shelves that hold the food are merely "cosmetic", and therefore are not covered under warranty. What the heck? If you are driving your car and the seats fall out, is that a cosmetic problem? Or what if the keys fall off your keyboard? Who needs those, really - just cosmetic. Dishwasher with no racks? Cosmetic. I mean come ON people! What good is a fridge with the shelves falling apart?

My advice, next time - instead of the warranty, buy duct tape. It's much cheaper, and much more reliable.
